K. Rowling is probably my favorite author and, a few years ago, she started writing crime novels under the pen name Robert Galbraith, featuring private detective Cormoran Strike. The fourth book in the series, Letal White, came out a few weeks ago in the UK so, before publication, I decided to reread the whole series and for the next few weeks I will tell you about this fantastic series (whether you like it or not ☺).
I will start by talking about the first book where the two protagonists of the series, private detective Cormoran Strike and his new assistant Robin make their first appearance. In this first book, a famous model falls to her death and while the police think it’s suicide, her brother is convinced that someone pushed her so he asks Cormoran to investigate.
This is a completely different genre from Harry Potter but the author’s brilliant and fluent writing style is there as well as her captivating plots and engaging characters. The novel is more than 400 pages long and yet I read it in two days and there are many twists that you won’t see coming. A series TV of the first two books of the series has already been developed and aired in the UK. I don’t know when it will come to Italy but I am already looking forward to it.
Next week, I will talk you about the second book in the series, The Silkworm…
