Pubblicato in Italia con il titolo L’uomo dei sussurri. Una voce fuori dalla finestra, un bambino in pericolo, un padre che fa di tutto per proteggere suo figlio. Il romanzo d’esordio di Alex North è un must-read!

This is one of my favourite novels of the year, but be careful, it’s not for the faint-hearted and check your doors at night.

It’s the story of Tom Kennedy and his six-year-old son Jake. After the death of his wife Rebecca, Tom thinks it’s a good idea to move somewhere new for a fresh start and the small town of Featherbank seems to be the perfect place. Featherbank was the setting of the kidnapping and murder of six children twenty years before. The killer, nicknamed the Whisper Man, has been in jail since then, but now a young boy has been kidnapped and murdered. Are the two cases connected? And why is Jake hearing voices?

This was such a gripping and twisty read. It’s full of suspense and surprises that kept me glued to the pages. I loved the protagonists, Jake and Tom, who felt very real and ordinary and the author makes a great job describing the grief of people losing the people they love.

The Whisper Man is chilling and addictive, a brilliant page-turner that I highly recommend!!!
