The story opens with a man, Aidan Poole, skyping is girlfriend. But this is not a normal call, because Aidan witnesses his girlfriend being killed, but he doesn’t call the police. Why? And why would someone kill her? Detective Chief Inspector Jonah Sheens and his team are back to investigate this case full of suspects who seemed to have a reason to want the victim dead and full of secrets that slowly surfaces.
This author has a great skill in making you believe that someone is the killer and then, bam, reveal something that changes the whole story and completely takes you by surprise. This is the second novel featuring Detective Chief Inspector Jonah Sheens and his team and I am really loving it. It’s twisty, gripping, and dark and it will keep you on the edge of your seat the entire time.
