Non ancora pubblicato in Italia. Una strana amicizia che porta alla scomparsa di uno mentre l’altro viene sospettato. Una storia che vi darà i brividi.

Louise Candlish is one of those authors whose book I always read when it comes out. I love her writing style and the many twists that you don’t see coming so it’s no surprise that I was completely engrossed in her latest novel.

The Other Passenger is the story of two couples, one younger than the other, who form an unlikely and dysfunctional friendship that ends in tragedy. The story is told in first person from one of them, Jamie, as, after the disappearance of his friend Kit, he is interrogated by the police and he recalls how their friendship was born and what led to the disastrous present day.

One thing that always features in Louise Candlish’s novels and that I really like is that her characters are very unlikable. Actually, they are detestable. I don’t like them, I don’t like their choices and their behavious and, yet, their story keeps me glued to the page. Add a claustrophobic atmosphere, twists that take you by surprise, jealousies, betrayals, and deception, and you have an unptodownable novel that you won’t easily forget.
