If you loved Elinor Oliphant Is Completely Fine, then you are really going to enjoy The Maid. The protagonist is Molly Gray. She works as a maid at the Regency Grand Hotel. She is always on time, precise and her service is impeccable. One day, she finds a man dead inside one of the rooms of the hotel. The victim is one of the most important guests of the hotel. And what initially appeared to be natural death it turns into suspected death. As a maid, no one sees Molly, but Molly sees and knows everything…
I really loved this novel. Molly is a very unique character. She was raised by her grandmother, she’s never had many friends, and she trust easily so people often take advantage of her. But Molly is smart and the few friends she has are loyal and willing to do anything to help her when she gets into trouble.
The story is compelling, engrossing, and witty and I loved it every page of it. Highly recommended!
