If you loved the series Scandal on TV, then you are really going to enjoy this novel. The protagonist is Maggie Costello who is known in Washington DC to solve the problems of politicians. She is hired by Natasha Winthrop, a rising star in American politics, who killed a man who broke into her house. Was it self-defence or there is more to the story?
Some of the themes addressed by the author are not easy to read. Sexual assault, rape, #metoo movement, and the difficulty in the American justice system to prosecute rapists make for a disturbing and thought-provoking read. The story is intense and fast-paced, full of twists that will surprise you. This is my first novel by this author, but I can’t wait to read more!!!
