Non ancora pubblicato in Italia. Cosa faresti se scoprissi che il bambino che hai cresciuto ed amato negli ultimi due anni in realtà non è tuo figlio? E se i suoi veri genitori non fossero le brave persone che pensi?
I have read all novels by JP Delaney, I have been a fan since his first novel and, every year, I look forward to whatever he’s created. Playing Nice is a story of family and parenthood with a psychotic character in the mix. It’s the story of two families, Pete and Maddie and Lily and Miles and their sons. They meet when they find out that their son has been switched and that they have been raising each other’s child. After the initial shock, they decide to make the most of the situation and start to spend time together for the good of the children. However, charming and handsome Miles is not the charming person they think he is and, as he tries to insinuate himself in their lives, they try to distance themselves. But it’s too late…
This is a thought-provoking and gripping novel. What would you do if you find out that you’ve been raising someone else’s son? The story is told from Pete and Maddie’s point of view. Pete is the nice guy, trying to get along with everyone while Maddie is more analytical and complex to figure out. Playing Nice kept me engrossed for hours and now I am already looking forward to the author’s next project.
