Pubblicato in Italia con il titolo Frederica. Un marchese annoiata, una giovane donna determinata a garantire un buon matrimonio a sua sorella, e tanti imprevisti e colpi di scena in questo fantastico romanzo di Georgette Heyer.

This was another fun read from the queen of historical romance. The protagonists of this novel are a bored Marquis whose major enjoyment seems to be to find ways to irritate his sisters, and a 24-year-old distant relative who is in charge of her younger siblings and needs his help to present to society her younger beautiful sister.

Like in other Georgette Heyer’s novels, the hero’s life is turned upside down by the arrival of the heroine. In this case, the Marquis of Alverstoke is an eligible bachelor known to be a selfish rake. Enter Frederica and her boisterous siblings. They bring chaos – and sometimes even people – to the Marquis’ door and while everyone assumes he is attracted to the younger stunning sister, it is Frederica that keeps him interested.

Frederica is an entertaining and charming read with wonderful characters and lots of unexpected moments and it made me smile from start to finish!
