Pubblicato in Italia con il titolo La serie infernale. Una nuova sfida per il famoso belga che deve fermare un serial killer prima del prossimo omicidio…
My Agatha Christie summer reread continues with another Hercule Poirot mystery. In The A.B.C. Murders, the famous detective receives a letter, signed by ABC, announcing the soon-to-be murder of someone in the town of Andover. The detective and his loyal friend Hastings arrive too late, but they soon receive another letter from ABC… this time the murder will happen in Bexhill-on-Sea. As letters continue to arrive and challenge the detective, the murders continue following the alphabetical order. Will Poirot be able to stop the killer?

I love Agatha Christie’s novels because you never know what to expect. The twists, the tension, the plot, they are so well-thought, intricate, and very well-written that it is impossible to put the book down. The A.B.C. Murders is indeed another brilliant mystery. The victims don’t seem to have any connection beside the alphabetical order of the names, the killer doesn’t seem to have any motivation besides challenging Hercule Poirot, and the murders are carefully executed. And once everything is revealed, the simple logic of the murders will take you by surprise. Another fantastic read from the Queen of Crime!
