Pubblicato in Italia con il titolo L’assassinio di Roger Ackroyd. L’omicidio dell’uomo più ricco del paese sconvolge un piccolo villaggio inglese. Fortunatamente, un famoso detective belga sta investigando…
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is the first novel by Agatha Christie I ever read, and I couldn’t have chosen a better book. I was hooked from the first pages and since then I have been reading more and more books from the Queen of Crime.

Following the suicide of the woman he was about to marry, Roger Ackroyd, the richest man in the peaceful English village of King’s Abbot is found murdered in his study. No one could have gone in or out, so how the killer did it? Luckily, the most famous Belgian detective Hercule Poirot has just retired in King’s Abbott and accepts to investigate the murder.
What I love about this novel is the ending, because you’ll never guess who the murderer is until it is revealed and it will leave you stunned. It’s brilliantly-thought and it will take you completely by surprise.
The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is considered one of the greatest novels by Agatha Christie and there is a reason for it, so go ahead and read it because it’s worth it!
