Last year, I loved Anstey Harris’s novel The Truth and Triumphs of Grace Atherton and this year I was once again amazed by her latest novel, Where We Belong.
The protagonist of the novel is recently widowed Cate, who homeless and jobless, is forced to move in in her late husband’s family home together with their son Leo. Hatters Museum holds a past and secrets that may help Cate better understand her husband and herself.
This story is heartbreaking and emotional. Cate recounts her story with Richard, her husband, and her struggle in dealing with his illness. There is grief and pain, but also happy moments that made me smile.
I love the author’s writing style and the characters she creates and her stories are so beautiful, realistic, and engrossing. This is another must read.
