Pubblicato in Italia con il titolo Cinque piste false. In un idialliaco villaggio scozzese, Lord Peter Wimsey indaga sull’omicidio di un pittore locale. Chi tra i sei sospettati è l’assassino?
Even when he is on holiday, Lord Peter Wimsey manages to get himself involved in a murder investigation. The victim is a local painter that nobody seemed to like, but there were six people, in particular, who had reason to kill him and it’s up to Lord Wimsey to figure out which one of them did it.
Overall, I enjoyed the novel, the mystery, the search for the killer, the six suspects of which five are red herrings and one is the mastermind behind this complicated murder, but there were also times when I had trouble following the story, especially when it came to establish the suspects’ alibis through quite complex train timetables… I was completely lost! Despite this, it was still an enjoyable read and a fantastic Lord Wimsey mystery!
