Non ancora pubblicato in Italia, il nuovo romanzo di Lisa Gardner è una storia piena di colpi di scena  e sorprese che vi terranno incollati alle pagine.

Lisa Gardner is a renowned and famous author and yet I never had the chance to read any of her books until now, but I am going to catch up. Her latest novel, Never Tell, is the eleventh book in a series that features as its protagonist detective D. D. Warren. She is a strong, determined woman, really good at her job. This time she is called to investigate the homicide of Connor, who was shot three times in his own home. His wife Evie is found next to the body holding the gun, but she claims her innocence. Evie was also involved also in her father’s death when she was sixteen years old. At the time, it was ruled an accident, but how many times a woman can kill by accident?

Helping in the investigation is Fiona, once a victim of kidnapping and abuse, and now an informant for the police. Somehow Fiona knew Connor and as the case grows and becomes more complicated, she gets more involved while at the same time facing monsters from her past.

The author addresses themes that may be disturbing and emotional, but the story is very captivating and gripping. I loved the three protagonists of the novel, three strong-willed, kick-ass women that keep the reader captivated. The suspense is always high with many twists and surprises, Never Tell is a must-read. And now I am off to read the other author’s novels.
