The National Museum of the Philippines (Filipino: Pambansang Museo ng Pilipinas), is located in Padre Burgos Drive, in the City of Manila. A Trust of the Government of the Philippines, for educational, scientific and cultural institution that acquires, documents, preserves, exhibits, and fosters scholarly study and public appreciation of works of art, specimens, and cultural and historical artifacts representative of or unique to the cultural heritage of the Filipino people and the natural history of the Philippines. The National Museum in terms of museum facilities is mandated to establish, manage and develop a central museum complex in Manila, as well as regional museums throughout the country.
The National Museum is envisioned as the premier institution and repository of our heritage, and as an exciting, informative, and enjoyable place to visit, a place that inspires people to learn from our traditions so as to help shape a better future. The National Museum is also dedicated to the mission of collecting, preserving, studying, interpreting and exhibiting the cultural and natural history specimens of the Philippine, from the historic times to the present, albeit the diversity of their cultural origins.
