Non ancora pubblicato in Italia. Una bellissima storia di amore e amicizia che vi coinvolgerà dalla prima all’ultima pagina.
Without a doubt, Paige Toon is one of my favourite authors, even though she always manages to make me cry with her beautiful stories and her incredible protagonists. Her new story focus on the foster care system, how parentless children are moved from one family to another, never finding any stability or love. It’s the story of Leah, whose family welcomes foster teenagers in their farm in Yorkshire. When she is fifteen-year-old, George arrives at the farm. He is haunted by his childhood and it’s not easy for Leah to get close to him. Theo has also a troubled family, but he is the rich boy taken out from boarding school whose father ignores him. They become friends and try to help each other, but, fifteen years later, things are different.
Such a beautiful and heartbreaking story! Relatable and authentic characters that you can’t help but love, a story that will both break your heart and warm it, this is Paige Toon at her best. I finished reading it more than one month ago, but I keep still thinking about it!
