I am a huge fan of Sophie Kinsella’s novels, especially her Shopaholic series, but also her stand-alone novels and Can You Keep A Secret? is one of my favourite.
Emma Corrigan has quite a few secrets that she’s never revealed to anyone, not her boyfriend, not her best friend, and not her parents. Until she reveals them all to the stranger sitting next to her on the plane, in a moment of panic when she thought that it was going to crash. Luckily, it was just a small turbulence and she’s never going to see that stranger again, right? She is wrong, because it turns out that the stranger is actually her boss and it seems that the secrets that she finds dull and humiliating, he actually finds them – and her – interesting.
Like all Sophie Kinsella’s novels, this one is full of wit and laughter, together with a fantastic well-developed and fun protagonist that you can’t help but love. This is a feel-good story that you won’t be able to put down!
