What do you do when you spent all your life dedicated to your career and then you make a mistake that could cost you everything you’ve worked for? Raised in a very highly accomplished family, attorney Samantha Downing knows that the only way she will ever get her family’s approval is by being made partner. She works day and night, living on little sleep and too much coffee, but then she notices a mistake that could ruin her career, so, in a panic, she gets on the first train out of London and she finds herself lost in the countryside, where she is mistakenly offered the job of housekeeper in a big country house. And she could pull it off if only she knew how to cook, or sew, or even do the laundry. And what will she do when her old life finally catches up with her?
This is a fun and entertaining read! Samantha is funny and smart and I enjoyed how she develops throughout the novel, not only on her domestic skills, but also her personal life. There is romance, self-discovery, and found family. If you are looking for a quick and easy novel with comedy and romance, then I highly recommend The Undomestic Goddess!
