Non ancora pubblicato in Italia. Una commedia romantica in cui gli opposti si attraggono e le risate abbondano.
This is yet another book that I read because I kept seeing it on my Instagram feed and it was time I gave it a try and I wasn’t disappointed. It Happened One Summer is such a fun, sexy, and romantic story with fantastic characters that you can’t help but love.
Socialite Piper and her younger sister Hannah Bellinger left the small village of Westport when they were children and never thought they’d come back. But after Piper ends up in jail and on the cover of celebrity magazines for breaking into a hotel, their stepfather decides it’s time they learn some responsibility and sends them to Westport to take care of their late father’s bar. The first person they meet is Brendan, charming, sexy, grumpy, and widowed sea captain. He thinks she won’t survive five minutes away from the luxuries of LA and she’s determined to prove him, – and her stepfather -, that she’s much more than a socialite who only thinks about clothes and partying.
When they say opposites attracts… Piper and Brendan couldn’t be more different and yet their chemistry is off the charts from the very beginning. Despite their differences, they are attracted to each other, but can Piper leave her luxurious life behind? And can Brendan finally find love?
I loved the characters, the small town setting, and the romance. There is a sequel, Hook, Line, and Sinker, which has already been published and it focuses on Hannah and Fox, Brendan’s best friend, whose attraction is already hinted in It Happened One Summer and promises more romance and entertainment. I can’t wait to read it!
