Cari amici, proprio nella Baia di Manila, c’è l’isola di Corregidor. Avamposto militare durante la seconda guerra mondiale. Fu luogo di morte per migliaia di soldati e teatro di guerra tra soldati americani e filippini contro le forze imperiali giapponesi. Si racconta che, proprio qui, 3000 soldati del Sole Levante preferirono il suicidio, alla resa e deportazione. Si tolsero la vita nei numerosi sottopassaggi dell’isola. Ma le loro anime continuano a errare in cerca di pace. Sono in molti, i più coraggiosi che si sono spinti in quei tunnel, a raccontare di strane presenze in quel luogo. Mi vengono i brividi al solo pensiero!
Aside from ruins and remnants, Corregidor is said to be rife with the ghosts of World War II. So, reports of spooky encounters during leisurely tours of the island are nothing new.
Located at the mouth of Manila Bay, Corregidor used to be an American outpost. From the time it was invaded by Japanese forces to the moment it was retaken by the Americans, more than 10,000 soldiers died on the island. Paranormal experts say a number of those souls have not moved on and to this day haunt Corregidor’s bunkers, barracks, extensive caves and underground hospital.
The Philippines has its fair share of places that are shrouded in mystery, interestingly creepy or just downright scary that is worth exploring, if you’re up for it.
