Non ancora pubblicato in Italia. Una fantastica serie storica con una forte e indipendente protagonista femminile, misteri, intrighi politici, e anche romanticismo.

I am excited to talk about the Veronica Speedwell series, one of my favourite historical mystery series. Set in England in the late 19th century, it features as its protagonist a young woman, Veronica Speedwell. She is an interesting and unique woman for her time.

Independent and progressive, Veronica is a lepidopterist (she studies butterflies) and, following the death of her aunt, her last living relative, she is preparing for her next adventure around the world when she is saved from a kidnapping attempt from a German baron who leaves her in the care of his reclusive friend Stoker, a natural historian.

From here, the two of them get involved in a series of murder investigations, sometimes involving the Royal family, and some other times ghosts from their pasts. So far, nine books have been published of this thrilling, witty, and highly entertaining series and the author is currently writing the next one. Highly recommended!
