Pubblicato con il titolo Sono esaurita. Sasha non ce la fa più. È tempo di prendere una pausa dal suo lavoro e riprendere in mano le redini della sua vita.

Sophie Kinsella is my favourite contemporary author. She’s my auto-buy author. Whenever she writes a new book, I buy it, without a doubt. I love her witty and sharp writing, the relatable and authentic characters, and her beautiful stories.
The Burnout is her latest novel and I adored it, especially because I could relate 100% to the protagonist, Sasha Worth. A job that leaves her with no much time for anything else. Her family, her friends, her love life, even her plants are suffering from the time she spends at work. And then one day she’s had enough. What she needs is a break, time to rediscover herself, and reevaluate her priorities. And to do that she goes to the last place where she’s been completely happy: Rilston Bay, where her family used to spend the summer holidays.

From the first pages, I laughed so much. Like all Sophie Kinsella’s protagonists, Sasha is so much fun. Determined to follow a set of steps of wellness, she quickly finds out that kale and yoga are not really her thing, but she can’t say that to the helpful staff at the hotel. And then there is handsome and grumpy Finn Birchall. It seems that Sasha is not the only one in need of a break from work, but does he have to alleviate his burnout on her beach? And who is leaving them mysterious messages in the sand? An immersive and heartwarming novel that I couldn’t put down!
