This is such a beautiful and unique story. Even if you are not a fan of fantasy fiction, you are going to love this story of a woman who made a deal with the devil and spent eternity paying for it.
Addie was born in a small villange in France in the 1700s. She dreams of travelling and freedom, but her family wants her to marry a farmer, so right before her wedding she prays the gods to help her, but the devil answers. In exchange for her freedom, Addie will become invisible. Nobody will recognize her, no matter how many times she meets them. Her parents and her best friend don’t know her so she escapes to Paris and, from there, her dream to travel around the world comes true, but still nobody knows who she is. Until present day in New York… I won’t tell you what happens to not spoil.
The characters are incredible and so well-developed. You won’t easily forget the story and the ending is heart-breaking and yet, perfect. A must-read!
