I read this novel during a heat wave and it gave me the chills. I am not joking. So, let me warn you first. This novel is not for the weak of heart. There are disturbing and violent scenes that gave me goosebumps, but the story will take you on a rollercoaster of a read that will leave you breathless.
After a young woman steals a man’s bag in a bar, the police comes to the knowledge of a serial killer on the loose in Los Angeles. In fact, inside the bag there was a diary detailing the killer’s each murder, including pictures of the victims and location of where he buried the bodies. As LAPD detectives Hunter and Garcia go through the killer’s diary, they know that they must find him soon before he hits again.
This is the eleventh book in a series, but it can easily be read as a stand-alone. The characters are complex and multi-layered and the plot is clever, intense and dark. Despite the gruesome murders, I really enjoyed this novel, it kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Highly recommended!!!
