Pubblicato in Italia con il titolo Un gentiluomo senza pari. L’arrivo di un gentiluomo in un piccolo paese inglese crea molto scompiglio, soprattutto nella vita di una governante.

The Nonesuch is my third favourite novel by Georgette Heyer. The characters are mostly likable, the story is entertaining, and there was something about it (although I am not sure what) that reminded me a lot of Jane Austen (this story more than others).
The dictionary defines NONESUCH as “a person or thing without an equal”. In the book, the Nonesuch is the handsome, generous, and wealthy Sir Waldo Hawkridge who travels to West Riding to take care of his inheritance of Broom Hall, causing lots of excitement among the inhabitants of the village.

However, it’s Ancilla Trent, a companion and governess, who captures his attention. Between spoiled heiresses, meddlesome cousins, ladies gossip, and a few misunderstandings, Sir Waldo will have to prove to Ancilla that class doesn’t matter when it comes to love.
