Pubblicato in Italia con il titolo Otto settimane per cambiare vita. Una divertente e coinvolgente storia che vede una giovane donna scambiare la sua vita con quella di sua nonna.

Did you read The Flatshare last year? I did and I loved it. It was one of my favourite book of the year, so when I heard that its author had another book coming out I knew I had to read it and I wasn’t disappointed.

While in The Flatshare, the two protagonists shared the same flat and the same bed without ever meeting, in The Switch, the two protagonists are a grandmother and her granddaughter who, after a few disappointments and failures, decide to switch houses. Eileen, the grandmother moves to London to share a flat with her granddaughter’s friends and try online dating, while Leena moves to her grandmother’s house in Yorkshire and takes on her many projects in the neighbourhood.

This was a fun, heart-warming and gripping read that made me laugh on more than one occasion. I loved the characters and the story is so beautiful and well-written. Beth O’Leary is definitely on my list of favourite authors whose new book I will always be looking forward to.
